Ms. Morgan was able to pack a plethora of experiences and details into this book. The Reservists’ commitments go overlooked many times and this book helped to remind us how things can change overnight. I am thankful for this gentle yet poignant reminder. Thank you for your service and thank you for sharing these experiences with us, Ms. Morgan.

As a MP mom in the military I decided to Read this book as a … let me see what this about. Interestingly enough I found myself flipping the pages curious to see how she would maneuver. I could really identify with a lot of the struggles and contemplation Renata had. I also felt like the book was extremely relatable especially when she speaks about being scared on the inside but on the outside holding it together. I’m sure we have all been here time and time again. It was a good quick read. I’m ready for “life after duty” lol

Very interesting read…from the perspective of a woman in a male dominated MOS. You captured what all single parents (male or female) encounter when asked to defense our country. The RAW emotions of conflict. Well done my sista!!!

I truly enjoyed this book. I identified with the author as I too joined the military as a single mother of one son. I enjoyed the journey she took me on as she told her story. I could visualize while reading which as always great when reading a good book. I wish Renata the best and encourage her to continue writing. By the way, I read the book in one day.

This is a very good book from a very good soldier. It shared great insight from Civilian, to Soldier to Warrior!
All soldiers shared the same responsibilitiesand duties . But reading it from the advantage point from a daughter, mother and black woman gives it all the credibility it deserves. it’s a great ready and intriguing story line. As a retiree, I thought it was very truthful and AWESOME!!!!!!!

This was an amazing book I must say. Mrs. Morgan asked me, “Did I like to read” and I answered honestly with a “not really”. However, I looked down at the title of the book and decided to give it a chance. I couldn’t put her book down from “Her call to action” all the way to the very last page of her saying thank you. Every chapter had you wanted to know more about her journey. Thank you for this story and I hope so see more from you. Truly a must read!!!!!
